This was just a short little hike on our first day of camping. The weather sucked, since it was not only really hot, but very cloudy as well. None of the vistas on Skyline Drive were clear, but I figured Stony Man would be ok, and at the least, it would be a little leg stretcher...well, sort of.
This trail is one of the highest in SNP, and at something like 3800 feet, the air does get a little thin. Erin was having extreme difficulty with this little hill, though, and we're still not sure what happened. I think she has asthma or something. Very strange, since she's done much more grueling hikes before and since.
In any event, I got some decent photos from the top, and I'll have to post them and link up later. The clouds were clear atop the mountain, but you could see them spilling over Skyline Drive like a blanket. Very cool, but not as photogenic as I hoped it would be.
